The Good Things About Golden Retrievers

I can’t say enough about our two Golden Retrievers. They have done so much for us it’s hard not to spoil them. They’ve taught us nearly as much as we’ve taught them. Jenny and I have found new appreciation for the outdoors. Whether it’s just sitting outside feeling the breeze or going for a walk in the dog park, we’ve learned what a joy it is to be outside. Even winters are more fun with our Goldens. You may catch yourself running around with them outside like a little kid. Goldens have a way of approaching each day as a new adventure. Granted, they don’t have the same problems humans do, but they can show us how to appreciate the simple things in life. Walks, a game of fetch, a ride in the car, or even a good nap; you’ll start to appreciate the little things just a bit more.Their fun loving nature is contagious and they'll bring out the kid in you again.

You’ll never feel alone with a Golden. They are nearly always by your side or close by. They love to snuggle up next to you on the sofa or bed if you let them. They know when you’re sad, sick, or happy. They seem very in tune to your mood and feelings. You’ll never find a person who is as happy to see you even when you’ve only been gone a few hours.

Goldens are a lot of work, but they give you back as much as you give them. If you want a family dog that is good with kids, I can’t think of a better breed of dog. They’ll quickly become a part of your family rather than just a pet. You would be hard pressed to receive more love from another animal. The only bad part about Golden Retrievers in, my view, is that they don’t live as long as we do. As a result, Jenny and I cherish each day we have with our Golden's, much like they cherish life in general.

If you are interesed in finding a Golden Retriever check our breeders section, golden rescues, or human societies.
