According to Bloomberg.com PetSmart is considering offering pet home services including dog walking, dog backyard cleanup, and fish tank set up. I personally think this is a wonderful idea on their part. It would assure that the people involved would have some level of training and have to pass drug tests etc. It could potentially open the door for people who previously couldn't own dogs due to the inability to walk a dog during working ours. For tropical fish fans, it can ensure that a fish tank is properly set up prior to adding fish, which can give people a better start. It will also allow those who are unable to lift a fish tank an opportunity to own a tank. If the home services are managed right, I think this would be a win for PetSmart and a win for pet owners.
